Not at the Exact Same Time

By: Lisa Rose illustrations: Shirley Waisman

Children's lives are filled with fun activities, but they cannot all be done at once. This story is an amusing demonstration of what might happen if we were to try and do several things at once, while describing one of the greatest joys we can experience together each week – spending time with our families on Shabbat.   "To every thing there is a season and a time for every purpose" (Ecclesiastes, 3:1)

Age Group: TODDLERS

Children find it challenging to understand the concept of time and planning. It often requires of them to delay their desires and be patient. We can help them, as parents, understand what can be done immediately, what can be delayed to another time, and what may be done anywhere, anytime – feeling loved by one’s family.
