LittleHedgehog

By: Zemanel illustrations: Vanessa Gautier

The little hedgehog faces a dilemma: he wants to eat the large apple he found in the woods, but what about his friends? They are hungry too. If he shares his apple with them, he might stay hungry. Does giving necessarily mean losing?   “A man’s gift makes room for him” (Proverbs 18:16)

This verse in Proverbs teaches us that generosity does not take away from the giver, but enriches and adds to them. When we give others, our heart grows bigger and “roomier”.

Although the little hedgehog in the book only ate a small piece of the apple, his generosity enabled him to feast on many other delicious contributed to the meal by the other animals. More importantly, it won him good friends with whom to share and enjoy his good fortune!
